TouchBunny (터치바니)
As my first actual blog post i'm gonna be talking about something that i've been researching a bit for the past week or so.
TouchBunny
TouchBunny was a mobile game developed and published by SAN GAMES and was part of kakao's "kakaogames" subsidiary. It was Released in February 7th 2014 only in South Korea, and in July 15th 2016 it unfortunately ended its service, alongside SAN GAMES going bankrupt some time around that period (i dont know the exact date :P).
Even though the game saw some success at the start, it seemed to quickly die out, and by Mid 2014 they weren't updating the game anymore (or atleast thats what it seems happened, because they stopped posting about new content on the game by that time). Another version of the app that used Naver BAND instead of kakaoTalk was released some time between Mid 2014 and Early 2015.
There is very little information about this game, besides SAN GAMES & TouchBunny's Facebook Pages, TouchBunny's Naver Cafe group, and a few ancient blog posts talking about this game, there really isnt much about it. The only APK's found up until now have been of the latest version of the game (1.14 on kakao, 1.1.0 on BAND). The URL that the game uses to download Data from is also practically lost, as it seems its not anywhere in the game's files.. About the little information about the game that there is out there, it appears there was a Pre-Registration event that lasted from Early January 2014 to the game's release date. It had various prizes, including body pillows of the 4 characters when the game released..
(odd odd)
There was also a Pre-Registration event for the BAND version of the game, with basically the same prizes, with the biggest change being that the body pillows now had colored backgrounds, instead of being just plain white.
The game had 9 characters (supposedly 13, but the last 4 are just recolors of the first 4 characters, which leaves me to believe there were costumes on the game, but there is not enough evidence to prove if they were costumes or full-on characters.), the characters being Bunny, RingRing, Jay, Clover, Aya, Persona, Kaz, Scarlet & Cecilia. The game also had pets, though these ones seem to be less documented, since there doesnt seem to be names for all of the pets.
Not a lot is known about SAN GAMES either, it seems they also had a couple of games from all the way back in 2009, but even less is known about them (if TouchBunny being their most popular work has barely any information online, imagine the other games!!).
Did you know - one of SAN GAMES' previous games might've been a prequel to TouchBunny? the game is called TouchFly, and it was basically the same thing as TouchBunny, just waaaaay more basic.
Anyway, i guess thats all for now, i've been trying to find the Data Download URL with some friends for some time, to see if it was miraculously archived. If i find more stuff i'll probably make a sequel to this post!!!
Bye-bye!!!!!!
i love persona!!! Fan-Art source!!!
